Training

Attachment-based training for counsellors and psychotherapists.

From CPCAB courses to post-qualifying CPD, my teaching focuses on helping you translate theory into thoughtful, relational practice.

Whether you are at the beginning of your training or looking to deepen your work as a qualified therapist, the intention is the same: to help you think more clearly and integrate attachment into the realities of clinical practice.

CPD workshops for Qualified Therapists

I deliver CPD workshops for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists, including through Onlinevents and Optima Health Services.  You can find some of my workshops available to purchase on the Optima CPD Hub or by following the links below.

These sessions are reflective, clinically grounded, and attachment-informed. The focus is on deepening understanding rather than adding another model to memorise.

Recent themes have included working with avoidant attachment, understanding defensive processes in the therapy room, and using supervision as a secure base.

In-person workshop
'Working with Attachment in the Therapy Room'

This in-person workshop will take place in Radlett, WD7, Hertfordshire on Saturday 17th October, from 9.30am to 1pm.

We will explore how attachment patterns develop, how attachment defences operate, how behaviour can be understood as protection, and how attachment shows up within therapeutic relationships.

We will be thinking about how to notice attachment more clearly, think about it more relationally, and feel more confident responding to what is unfolding in the room.

The workshop combines theory, discussion, reflection and practical application in a way that is grounded in real therapeutic work.

If you are interested in attachment but sometimes find yourself wondering how to move from theory to practice, you would be very welcome.  This workshop is suitable for both qualified therapists and trainee therapists who are seeing clients on placement.

Skills Training

I lecture on CPCAB counselling skills courses, supporting students at the beginning of their training.

My focus is on helping trainees understand what makes counselling different from everyday helping, and on developing presence, ethical awareness, and reflective practice from the outset.

If you are a training provider looking for a tutor who brings attachment-informed thinking and real clinical grounding into the classroom, I would be happy to discuss working together.

CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Attachment-based Psychotherapeutic Counselling

This course is designed for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists (Level 4 or above) who want to:

  • Explore how early attachment and developmental trauma shape relationships across the lifespan.

  • Work more relationally and intuitively, understanding the dynamics beneath the surface.

  • Deepen their practice beyond tools and techniques, developing therapeutic presence and attunement.

  • Build or refine a private practice grounded in attachment-informed, ethical work.

  • Work towards professional accreditation with bodies such as the BACP, UKCP, or NCPS.

This diploma offers more than theoretical knowledge. It supports you to bring curiosity, compassion, and depth into your work - and to feel confident in who you are as a therapist.

If you feel ready to go deeper, this could be the right next step for you.

Applications are open for 2026-27.

My cohort is now full, but spaces are available with my cohorts on different days - or you are welcome to register your interest for my cohort in 2027-28.

Guest Expert

I contribute to professional conversations on attachment, relational practice, and counselling skills through podcast appearances and other media, including BBC News, ITV News and BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour.

I am part of the Attach Together podcast, created by the therapists and tutors at Optima Health Services, where we explore attachment as it shows up in clinical work and supervision.

If you are looking for a guest speaker or podcast contributor on attachment-informed practice, you are welcome to get in touch.

Training Testimonials

Georgina was an amazing teacher, consistently inspirational, engaging, and very supportive throughout the course. She created a safe and encouraging environment that made it easy to participate and grow in confidence. Her passion for counselling really came through in every session, and she explained concepts clearly while also making them feel relevant. I’ve learnt so much from her teaching and feel hugely motivated to continue onto the next part of the course.
