A very special Saturday: winning the BACP Bright Future Award 2026

I don't usually write blog posts about myself. I'm much more comfortable writing about anxiety, relationships and the things that make us tick. But I'm making an exception for this one.

I'm delighted (and still slightly bewildered) to have won the BACP Bright Future Award 2026 at the BACP Member Awards. The award recognises early career practitioners who show promise in their work and potential to contribute to the counselling and psychotherapy profession. It's a real honour to receive this recognition, although I'm still getting used to the idea.

When I first started training as a counsellor, I couldn't have imagined where it would take me. My work now includes counselling, clinical supervision, teaching, CPD, podcasts and media contributions. I'm endlessly curious about people, relationships and why we respond to the world in the ways we do. I love the variety of my work and the fact that there's always more to learn.

I'm very grateful to the BACP for this award, and to everyone who has supported me along the way.
